We are so excited that you are joining us for our 9th annual Dawn’s 5k Dash!!!

Our FAQs are designed to ensure a successful and FUN race for ALL.

Q. Where and when will packet pickup be held?

A. There will be 2 locations to pick up your packets prior to race day:

  1. HoneyGo Regional Park, Friday, May 17th  from 5-7pm
    9033 HoneyGo Blvd., Perry Hall, MD 21228
    (Look for the Dawn’s 5k Dash Event Flag)

  2. Charm City Run Bel Air, Saturday, May 19th from 10am-12pm
    126 S. Main Street #2, Bel Air, MD 21014

Q. Can virtual race packets be mailed?

A. Yes, if you are out of state. Please note, there will be a small shipping fee to mail your packet (paid via Run Signup).

IMPORTANT: If you are in the state of Maryland, please visit one of our packet pickups or pick up on race day.

Q. When will virtual packages be mailed?

A. Approximately 10-12 days before race day. 

Q. Can I pick up another person’s packet?

A. Yes, please have the registered runner email dhfightfoundation@gmail.com  granting permission with their name/s, email address, and your name.

Q. What time is same day packet pickup?

A. 8am. We highly recommend that packet pickup is done prior to race day at one of the two designated locations. (Our volunteers will be busy on race day getting same-day participants registered).

Q. What time should we arrive?

A. The race begins promptly at 9am.  We suggest arriving between 8:00-8:15am so you can park, walk to the start area, stretch, and participate in our warm-up, as well as hear our opening speech with important race instructions.

Q. What’s the GPS address to the start line of the race?

A. 864 Smith Lane, Fallston, MD US 21047 (Annie’s Playground Entrance)

Q. Can I sign up on the day of the race?

A. Yes, you may.  However, please note, we have LIMITED same day registration spots available so kindly email dhfightfoundation@gmail.com to be added to the wait list. Additionally, an important reminder, you will not receive a race t-shirt.

Q. How do we pay for same day registrations?

A. We accept Venmo at @dawnhillfightfoundation, cash, or check.

 Q. How does the VIRTUAL run/walk work?

A. You can run/walk on your date, time, & location of choice!! We’d love to see your photos, so please send them to dhfightfoundation@gmail.com and tag us too! #dawns5kdash #dawnhillfightfoundation 

Q. What does my registration include?

A. Your registration includes entry into our in-person OR virtual run/walk, as well as a race t-shirt and finisher medal. (please note, you must be registered by 4/15/24 to be guaranteed a race t-shirt and finisher medal).

Q. Are strollers allowed?

A. Yes, strollers are allowed. We simply ask that you start at the back of the race for safety reasons. 

Q. Where should we park?

A. Annie’s Playground has a large parking lot which will accommodate many vehicles (however, we still recommend that you carpool) 

Q. Can I bring my pet?

A. Yes, leashed pets are welcomed on the trail (leashes not to exceed 6’ in length).  Please be mindful to clean up after your pet;  disposal bags are located at the beginning of the trail head, near the directory board.  

Q. Is there a restroom nearby?

A. Yes, there are restrooms available near the parking lot (close to the entrance of the race). You’ll see a yellow & brick building which is where the restroom are located.

Q. Do I need to run the race?

A. Not at all!  We welcome runners of all levels as well as walkers.

Q. Is there a water table?

A. Yes, the water table is located at the 1.5 mile mark, which is also the turnaround spot, as this is an out & back course. 

Q. Will there be a place to hold personal belongings during the race.

A. Unfortunately, no, we won’t have a space to hold personal belongings and are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Q. What time is the award ceremony?

A. The awards ceremony will begin approximately at 10-10:15am.

Q. Does this race award a medal to finishers?

A. Yes, all registered runners/walkers will receive a finisher medal.

Q. Does this race award placement medals?

A. Yes, we will have gold, silver, and bronze placement medals for 7 different age brackets for Male/Female, top three each. 

Q. When will online registration close?

A. On or about 10-14 days prior to race day; depending on quantity sold (as we have SOLD OUT previously).

Q. Can we create a race team?

A. Yes! This option is available during the online registration process. Make sure your team stands out with a special ‘little something’ that you all wear, carry, etc. Matching headbands, Tu-Tu’s, etc.

Q. What is the terrain of the trail?

A. Gravel/crushed stone trail, with rolling hills (crossing a short wooden bridge as well, over the stream).

Q. Where do the proceeds from the registration go?

A. All race registration proceeds are donated directly to pancreatic cancer patients in need of financial assistance.
